Last week Water Police and Dive Squad officers attended Bundaberg from Hervey Bay, Brisbane and Yeppoon to assist in the scuttling of former Navy ship ex-HMAS Tobruk.
Police were on site to provide operational support by escorting the ship to its final resting place along with the management of approximately 100 spectator boats present to witness the historic event.
The scuttling ran smoothly and the ship will now be an artificial reef for divers just off the Bundaberg and Hervey Bay coast.
