It’s school holidays again, but it’s not all fun and games.
During the break empty schools can become targets for crimes like theft, graffiti, property damage and even arson.
We will be running School Watch, a program supported by Education Queensland, Queensland Police Service and State Government Protective Security Services, to work together in reducing damage to schools.
You can help by keeping an eye out for schools in your area, and reporting any suspicious activity.
If you do see something, don’t try to intervene or put yourself at risk, just call School Watch on 13 17 88 or the police and we will deal with the situation.
Let’s work together to prevent vandalism and other crimes so that our schools are ready to go for Term 3!
If you have information for police, contact Policelink on 131 444 or provide information using the online form 24hrs per day.
You can report information about crime anonymously to Crime Stoppers, a registered charity and community volunteer organisation, by calling 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppersqld.com.au 24hrs per day.
