Drug charges, Bundaberg Patrol Group

Police have been kept busy in an attempt to keep drugs out of our community and drug drivers off our roads.

Thabeban

  • On May 21 at around 12.35pm, police were in the process of executing a search warrant at a Clearview Avenue, Thabeban address. Investigations revealed a 44-year-old Bargara man to be in possession of a dangerous drug. The man was issued a Notice to Appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 12.

Bundaberg South

  • On May 20, officers from Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch intercepted a vehicle at around 7.50pm on FE Walker Street, Bundaberg South. Investigations revealed an alleged quantity of a dangerous drug, weapon and utensil were located. A 40-year-old Innes Park man was arrested and later charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon and possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used. The man is scheduled to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 16.

Bargara

  • On May 19, officers from Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch intercepted a vehicle just before 10pm on See Street, Bargara. A roadside breath test was conducted, followed by a roadside drug test. As a result a positive saliva test for illegal drugs was provided. Further investigations revealed an alleged quantity of a dangerous drug, a utensil and a knife were located. A 32-year-old Ashfield man was arrested and later charged with two counts each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act, possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B OR M and assault or obstruct police officer. The man is scheduled to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court this morning. The drug driving matter is scheduled for July 27.

Drug driving offences

Bundaberg Road policing unit have intercepted drivers over the weekend, who provided positive saliva tests for illegal drugs and subsequently had their licence suspended for 24-hours.

  • On May 20 at around 6.40pm, a 26-year-old Norville man was intercepted by police on Thomas Thomsen Drive, Thabeban. The man is scheduled to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on July 27.
  • On May 19 at around 8.50pm, a 28-year-old Avenell Heights man was intercepted by police on Barolin Street, Walkervale. The man is scheduled to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on July 27.
