Police have recently received complaints from community members relating to door to door sales people wanting to sell solar panels. The sales people are also allegedly visiting homes with solar panels already installed.

Do you have solar panels?

If yes, is this because you:

a) Researched the information yourself and made an informed decision

b) Answered the door to a sales person door knocking

If no, is this because you:

a) Aren’t in a position to make the decision yet

b) Answered the door to a sales person door knocking

There isn’t a right or wrong answer here, but awareness that response b) Answered the door to a sales person door knocking appears in both situations.

It is alleged the sales people are requesting personal information from those interested, although the sales personnel are not wearing a company uniform, ID and are unable to produce any ID, business contact details or product information for the alleged solar company they are employed by.

Please be careful when you receive unsolicited sales people knocking at your door. Another way to put a stop to this is to order a sales people do not knock sticker.

If door to door traders are not following set business rules you are within your rights to make a complaint. Please visit here to find out more.
