Bundaberg CBD was the place to be yesterday morning. It was time for Crime Stoppers to launch the Dob in a Dealer campaign to our community.

The campaign is one part of addressing concerns about illicit drug use, including ICE and putting a stop to the manufacture and supply of dangerous drugs, which ultimately will assist in making our community a safer place.

Crime Stoppers General Manager Jonathon Cowley, Volunteer Program Manager Amy Jasper, Bundaberg Volunteer Area Committee members, Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt MP, Bundaberg Regional Council Mayor Mal Forman, Councillor Vince Habermann, Inspector Pat Swindells, Senior Sergeant Erwin Hoffmann and I attended the launch.

Between January and December 2015, Bundaberg saw a significant amount of drugs seized thanks to valuable and anonymous information reported to Crime Stoppers.

If you have any information to provide to Dob in a dealer, remember your information to Crime Stoppers is anonymous and will later help police to solve crimes, reduce the supply of drugs and may save the life of someone close to you.

If you know someone who is experiencing difficulties with ICE or other drug use, encourage them to seek professional help and treatment.

The first point of call in Queensland is the Alcohol and Drug Information Service (ADIS).

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.

Crime Stoppers is a registered charity and community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.

For all non-urgent police reporting or general police inquiries contact Policelink on 131 444 or Policelink.qld.gov.au 24hrs a day.
