Enforcement happens everyday and while people need to pay fines for traffic infringements they have been issued, another way to consider this is that a police officer has potentially saved your life and other road users from a possible crash with unknown consequences.
Infringements were issued during Queensland Road Safety Week across Bundaberg Police Patrol Group between 12:01 am Monday, August 17 and 23:59 pm Friday, August 21 for:
- 20 x Fail to stop at ‘STOP’ sign at intersection
- 12 x Driver use hand held mobile phone
- 3 x Make U-turn at intersection controlled by traffic lights (no sign)
- 1 x Traffic crash with injury (Not all traffic crashes are reported to police
- 1 x Type 2F High end speeding (40KM/H ABOVE)
- 53 x Exceed speed limit in speed zone by less than 13km/h
- 44 x Exceed speed limit in speed zone by at least 13km/h but not more than 20km/h
- 8 x Exceed speed limit in speed zone by more than 20km/h but not more than 30km/h
- 1 x Exceed speed limit in speed zone by more than 30km/h but not more than 40km/h
- 9 x Exceed speed limit in school zone by at least 13km/h but not more than 20km/h
- 8 x Exceed speed limit in school zone by less than 13km/h
- 3 x Exceed 50km/h (lower default speed limit BUA) by at least 13km/h but not more than 20km/h
- 1 x Exceed 50km/h (lower default speed limit BUA) by more than 20km/h but not more than 30km/h
- 2 x Exceed 100km/h (default speed limit) by less than 13km/h
- 9 x Exceed 100km/h (default speed limit) by at least 13km/h but not more than 20km/h
- 4 x Exceed 100km/h (default speed limit) by more than 20km/h but not more than 30km/h
- 1 x Exceed 100km/h (default speed limit) by more than 30km/h but not more than 40km/h
- 1 x Excced 100km/h (default speed limit) by more than 40km/h
- 11 x Driver fail to wear seatbelt
- 1 x Drive motor vehicle while passenger at least 7 years old but less than 16 years is in same seat position as another passenger
- 2 x Park so as to obstruct other vehicles or pedestrians
- 3 x Bicycle rider fail to wear helmet
- 8 x Drug Driving
- 1 x Drink Driving 0.15 and over (includes under the influence of drugs)
