Bundaberg Patrol Group Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) were out yesterday conducting the ‘Lock it or Lose it’ campaign in a retail carpark.
Congratulations to 103 motorists who left their vehicle secured today!
While an additional 21 motorists had their vehicle locked, the VIPs needed to leave reminders about items that might tempt an opportunistic thief.
This included:
- 12 x handbags in full view.
- 4 x personal documents with identifying details – name/addresses.
- 2 x windows partially down.
- 2 x loose change in view.
- 1 x phone in view.
Since February 1, police are investigating the following steal from motor vehicle offences:
Holland Street, Bargara – Between 5pm and 11.15pm on February 2, property allegedly stolen was personal accessories and cash.
Apple Tree Creek – Between 4pm and 4.05pm on February 3, property allegedly stolen from a bus was an Apple iPad.
Cameron Street, Bundaberg North – At around 2.30pm on February 6, property allegedly stolen was a wallet.
Takalvan Street, Avoca – Between 5.30pm on February 6 and 8am on February 7, property allegedly stolen included front and rear Queensland registration plates 146KXW.
