Recently, Constable Clint Karas and Constable Pete (Pedro) Hansen attended Bunnings Warehouse to assist the local Volunteers in Policing (VIP) in tightening the screws on crime.
Together, police and VIP gave away one-way screws to the public and assisted with re-attaching number plates to their cars.
The one-way screws are able to be attached using a conventional screwdriver but cannot be removed without a special tool.
This assists in reducing the number of stolen number plates and in turn, makes it difficult for offenders to use them to disguise their activity.
