It’s not every day we come across turtles in our patrols, so today two of our general duties officers were tracked down and took the opportunity to meet one.
Constable Joshua Ellis and Senior Constable Troy Bennett were tracked down.
It’s less than a fortnight away until the Mon Repos turtle encounters begin with guided tours to watch the turtles nest (November to January) and then hatch (January to March).
Today marked the day the first turtle has arrived and nested.
