It could be someone you know, another road user or police.

The majority of our police vehicles are clearly visible and easy to identify. We also have a number of unmarked vehicles on patrol for operational work, including road safety enforcement.

Operation Spring Break commenced on September 16 and will continue to run up to October 7. The operation is related to the Fatal Five and other road related offences.

In the past week officers across Wide Bay Burnett District have intercepted a number of motorists in relation to the following offence types, with investigations continuing for some matters:

Bundaberg Patrol Group

  • 6 x Unregistered and Uninsured
  • 4 x Evade Police
  • 3 x Driving whilst unlicensed
  • 2 x Driving whilst disqualified or restricted
  • 1 x Drink Drive 0.15% and over
  • 1 x High end speeding (40 km/h above)

Maryborough Patrol Group

Gympie Patrol Group

As we head into the second week of school holidays and an increase of vehicles on the roads, please help us reduce serious injury and fatal traffic crashes by:

  • Planning your road trips, travelling in a safe and registered vehicle and taking rest breaks every two hours;
  • Wearing your seat belt and ensuring passengers and children are correctly restrained;
  • Removing distractions and keeping your mobile phone off while driving or place it in the boot – well out of reach;
  • Sticking to the speed limit – it’s there to keep everyone safe;
  • Driving while hydrated and energised with water and food – not alcohol or drugs;
  • Ensuring your driver is currently licensed to drive the vehicle you are in.
