If you were around the Production Street area, then you may have heard Vehicle Inspection Officers over the loud speaker providing instruction to the drivers during the vehicle assessment time.

We’ve also had colleagues from Road Policing Command conducting a heavy vehicle enforcement operation on March 31 at the Glasshouse Mountains.

Two Bundaberg heavy vehicle drivers were intercepted and have received consequences in relation to fatigue contravention offences.

  • A 33-year-old Bundaberg West man was issued a Notice to Appear at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 20, for a critical risk breach of his rest hours.
  • A 30-year-old Thabeban man will be sent a Traffic Infringement Notice for Std hrs solo – exceed work hours – any 8hr (Minor). Consequence = $420 monetary fine.

Motorists of all vehicle types need to ensure they are well rested before they drive and take suitable rest breaks to avoid fatigue.

Heavy vehicle drivers also need to adhere to regulations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law and regulations.
