For those who read about police helping an elderly man change a tyre, we’ll here they are…

Police helpers

Senior Constable David Didsman and Senior Constable Geoffrey Street from our Bundaberg Patrol Group Road Policing Unit were out on the road on April 4, in a police vehicle and on a police motorcycle. They were the officers who took the time to assist an elderly driver.

This is not the first time Senior Constable Didsman has stopped to assist with changing tyres. In January, Senior Constable Didsman and Senior Constable Carl Grotaers were out on the Burnett Highway, where they took the time to assist a lady with her horse float. Due to weight of the horses, which included a Stallion, the driver looked after the horses, while the officers put their vehicle maintenance skills to use, changing tyres again.

As the saying goes, things come in threes. I wonder who Senior Constable Didsman will meet next to help change tyres.

You can be TyreSmart with the following tips:

  • Play your P.A.R.T = Pressure, Alignment, Rotation, Tread
  • Check your spare tyre – how is it looking and where is it?

Thank you to the woman who observed our officers performing their duties and commented positively.
