Holidays are here and while people may be relaxed and enjoy the time to socialise more with family and friends, offenders are acting on opportunities and committing offences.
This is a timely reminder to lock up windows and doors to vehicles, homes, garages, sheds and ensure your possessions are secure when you leave them.
Police have attended a number of areas since March 24, with the following offences currently under investigation:
Burglary, Break and enter
- Peek Street, Bundaberg North: Between 9:30pm on March 30 and 07:00am on March 31, it is alleged offender/s have gained entry to a garage by an unlocked door. Offender/s have allegedly stolen a 3-day-old Catahoula/bulldog cross puppy and accessed a garage remote control to open the roller door when leaving. QP1600559407
- Avoca Street, Bundaberg West: Between 8:00pm and 11:40pm on March 29, it is alleged offender/s have gained entry to a unit by removing a flyscreen and climbing in through the window. Offender/s have entered a number of areas in both levels of the unit and have allegedly stolen medication. QP1600552264
- Perry Street, Bundaberg North: Between 10:25pm on March 27 and 2:00am on March 28, it is alleged offender/s have attempted to gain entry to a business by attempting to open a door with an unknown implement. QP1600543531
- Low Street, Kensington: Between 4:00pm on March 25 and 9:00am on March 28, it is alleged offender/s have entered a dwelling by a toilet window. Offender/s have allegedly stolen a number of tools and equipment including a GLEM free standing gas oven (not connected) and a Euro made electric oven which was plugged into a wall. Tyre marks have been located inside the home, indicating a trolley may have been used to move items. QP1600541887
- Tennysson Street, Burnett Heads: Between 4:50am on March 25 and 2:35pm on March 27, it is alleged offender/s have entered a breezeway area and a shed. Offender/s have allegedly rummaged through a vehicle parked in a shed and have left the shed area and moved to a nearby area where items stolen were a polystyrene box which contained fish food, fish tank heaters, charcoal, pump, cotton wool, a round bottle with a lot of fittings and tank chemicals for killing algae. A hand made copper wire base with a wire mesh netting for lifting fish out of the tank was also stolen. QP1600536256
- Childers Road, Kensington: Between 5:00pm on March 24 and 8:00am on March 26, it is alleged offender/s have entered a shed by a side window and stolen a quantity of copper wiring. QP1600528209
