Cycling or bike riding is a popular family sporting and recreational activity.
During school holidays and other times throughout the year, families and community members may become tourists for a while or stay locally and take bikes to a local park, bike paths or outdoor tracks and trails.
Police often meet travellers when intercepting drivers for a Roadside Breath Test and sometimes we’ll see bikes are in tow. Bikes can travel safely when secured correctly to a bike rack fitted to a vehicle.
Bike racks may obscure your vehicles number plate, so please be aware of the requirement to order an accessory plate from Transport and Main Roads.
An accessory plate needs to be linked to your registration details and will help keep your number plate details visible from the correct distance.
