With ANZAC Day very different this year, our local police still wanted to pay their respects to our fallen by participating in the light up the dawn ceremony.

At 6am on Saturday morning, officers from from all around the Bundaberg Patrol Group stood at the front of their respective stations to remember all those who have served and sacrificed.

During their morning patrols around town, police were proud to witness the record number of residents also participating.

Officer in Charge (OIC) of Gin Gin Police Station Sergeant Sharon Morgan said that it was quite moving to see a number of our local families showing their respects via a driveway vigil as per the RSL’s recommendation and request.

OIC of Eidsvold Police Station Sergeant Mark Gawronski stood proudly with fellow emergency services workers at the front of Eidsvold Police Station while the Last Post and national anthem played through the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services truck loud speaker.

“It was heartwarming to be able to stand alongside my fellow emergency services first responders and pay our respects together,” Sergeant Gawronski said.

We Will Remember Them.
