Eidsvold Police and North Burnett Regional Council have teamed up to help spread road safety and crime prevention messages to both community members and visitors to the area.

The council owns and operates a large billboard on the Bruce Highway as people enter Eidsvold.

The billboard, located near a designated driver reviver stop, is used to promote many wonderful community events.

Local officer, Senior Constable Geoff Price, noticed periods where old events were still being advertised on the billboard, so he contacted the council to arrange a partnership between the council and Eidsvold Police with the aim of displaying road safety and property crime prevention messages on the billboard when there are no events being advertised.

The billboard’s location makes for a prime position to get these messages out as it is visible to everyone entering and leaving town including the numerous holiday makers travelling through along Australia’s County Way (Burnett Highway).

The messages, created by Eidsvold Police, are put up by the staff at the RM Williams Centre on both sides of the billboard.

Eidsvold Police appreciate the council providing the use of the billboard, the staff at the RM Centre and Mayor Rachel Chambers for continuing to strengthen the relationship with the Eidsvold Police to provide a safer community for people living, visiting, or travelling through town.
