That’s the message that Bundaberg Police want the public to take notice of and they have a big flashing sign to remind us.
The sign is currently set up on Mt Perry Road reminding drivers travelling to black spots on Rosedale Road and Moore Park Road.
Recently there has been an increase in serious traffic crashes on rural roads.
Whether this can be attributed to the Fatal Five – speeding, distraction, drink/drug driving, fatigue or not wearing a seatbelt – or the unexpected such as animals wandering on the road, police want drivers to take extra care.
In an effort to reduce this alarming trend, police from other areas will be involved in an operation concentrating on traffic enforcement on our rural roads.
So please don’t become complacent and think that ‘it can’t happen to me’.
Drive carefully all the time so that we can all make it home safely.
