Please remember our school zones

Here’s a snapshot of some speeding traffic infringements issued by our Road Policing Unit on June 12 over a two hour period.

Three of these occurred in a school zone.

  • At around 6.55am a 40-year-old Moore Park Beach man travelled at an alleged speed of 94km/h in an 80km/h zone along Moore Park Road, Gooburrum. Consequence = $243 and three demerit points.
  • At around 7.15am a 27-year-old Bundaberg West woman travelled at an alleged speed of 80km/h in a 60km/h zone along Branyan Street, Bundaberg West. Consequence = $243 and three demerit points.
  • At around 7.20am a 55-year-old Elliott man travelled at an alleged speed of 72km/h in a 60km/h zone along Mount Perry Road, Bundaberg North. Consequence = $162 and one demerit point.
  • At around 8.30am a 25-year-old Thabeban woman travelled at an alleged speed of 52km/h in a 40km/h school zone along McCarthy Road, Thabeban. Consequence = $162 and one demerit point.
  • At around 8.40am a 77-year-old Kepnock woman travelled at an alleged speed of 60km/h in a 40km/h school zone along McCarthy Road, Thabeban. Consequence = $243 and three demerit points.
  • At around 8.50am a 63-year-old Bargara man travelled at an alleged speed of 60km/h in a 40km/h school zone along McCarthy Road, Thabeban. Consequence = $243 and three demerit points.

Please slow down and if you are a passenger, encourage your driver to stick to the speed limit, be observant and follow road rules.
