May 31 was the last day of Domestic and Family Violence prevention month, but that doesn’t mean police and support agencies stop taking action.
There are several useful contacts and websites to get support, so help police and your community by keeping the ‘not now, not ever’ message continue.
Domestic and family violence occurrences are occurring within our communities and we need these to stop.
Between May 1 and May 31, police across Bundaberg Patrol Group have investigated reports relating to Domestic and Family Violence in the following areas:
- Alloway, Apple Tree Creek, Ashfield, Avenell Heights, Avoca, Avondale
- Bargara, Branyan, Bundaberg Central, Bundaberg East, Bundaberg North, Bundaberg South, Bundaberg West, Bungadoo, Burnett Heads
- Childers, Coral Cove, Cordalba
- Eidsvold, Elliott Heads
- Gin Gin, Gooburrum
- Innes Park
- Kepnock
- McIlwraith, Meadowvale, Millbank, Monto, Moolboolaman, Moore Park Beach, Morganville, Mount Perry,
- Norville
- Pine Creek,
- Redridge
- Sharon, St Agnes, Svensson Heights
- Thabeban
- Walkervale, Wallaville
Police have attended a number of these areas on more than one occasion, indicating there are more domestic and family violence investigations than appear listed above.
Criminal offences including assaults, choking, suffocation and strangulation may also be investigated at the time police respond.
