Sergeant Glen Fletcher, Officer in Charge Monto, is advising residents to be prepared for the night with the current Tropical Cyclone Marcia situation being a Category 2 system. Information suggests the destructive core of tropical cyclone Marcia, with gusts to 155 km/h, is continuing to move south, west of Gladstone. Destructive winds may be experienced at Biloela during the next couple of hours. Gales are occurring or are expected to develop about the coast and adjacent inland between Yeppoon and Double Island Point tonight, including Biloela, Monto, and Mundubbera.
