Do you have a lawful reason to be in a yard, dwelling, public building, public land, farming land or a school?
If not, it’s likely you are committing an offence referred to as trespass.
This week we’ll see our Catholic and Independent schools finish, followed by our state schools next week.
Weekends and holidays are a time police request community members to assist in protecting our schools by observing and reporting any suspicious behaviour or trespassing.
Businesses may also close over the Christmas/New Year break and trespassing offences may occur if a person is not an authorised employee and has no reasonable excuse to be there.
For those working on farming land for agricultural, horticultural, grazing or animal husbandry purposes, please remember to secure any gates, fencing or other barrier that encloses your land area, as an attempt to restrict any unlawful visitors.
