Operation Spring Break: Slow down there are kids around

As motorists we need to be observant and focused at all times and especially when passing by school zones.

As schools commenced Term 4 yesterday police were visible across the Wide Bay Burnett District, although some motorists clearly had their attention span elsewhere.

Speeding in school zone offences issued between 7.00am on October 4 and 9.00am on October 5 include:

Bundaberg Patrol Group

  • Two x exceed speed limit in school zone by at least 13 Km/h but not more than 20 Km/h
  • Three x exceed speed limit in school zone by less than 13 Km/h

Maryborough Patrol Group

  • One x exceed speed limit in school zone by more than 40 Km/h: A 59-year-old Doolbi woman was issued a $1137 Traffic Infringement Notice for travelling at an alleged speed of 95 Km/h in a 40 Km/h school zone. The offence location was Burgowan Road, Torbanlea at around 2.50pm.
  • Seven x Exceed speed limit in school zone by at least 13 Km/h but not more than 20 Km/h
  • Three x Exceed speed limit in school zone by less than 13 Km/h

Gympie Patrol Group

  • One x Exceed speed limit in school zone by less than 13 Km/h
