Today is the fourth day of Queensland Child Protection Week and a time to recognise and acknowledge the great work and thoughts children bring to our community.

Bundaberg East State School students created five Indigenous dot artworks under the guidance of art teacher Roger Saunders. Creation time was during the schools 2016 NAIDOC Week celebrations.

The children chose Bundaberg Patrol Group Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) as the recipient, so that children who were waiting to speak with police could relax and enjoy the 3D effect. Police see and speak with children who may be victims, witnesses or have committed offences.

Bundaberg Patrol Group thank the students for thinking of other children and adding some aesthetic value to the children’s waiting area.

“The artworks have already received some great feedback, and it’s not just visiting children that have enjoyed them,” CPIU Administration Officer Amanda Ford said.

“Officers and staff have been donning the 3D glasses for a closer look!”
