Following on from Queensland Road Safety Week last week and a fatal traffic crash this week, our Gin Gin police continue to target road safety within the local community.
At around 9.50am on September 2, a 45-year-old Urraween man was intercepted by Gin Gin police for an alleged speed offence of 143Km/h in a 100Km/h zone. The offence location was along the Bruce Highway, Gin Gin.
The driver was issued a Traffic Infringement Notice for $1137 and will also face the consequence of eight demerit points and a six month licence suspension.
Again, we ask drivers to drive safely and be aware of the Fatal Five.
Here are some road safety messages to remember this weekend, thanks to our local ABC Wide Bay and Bundaberg Broadcasters radio stations.
