Over the next few weeks you could see the message One Punch Can Kill in your school communities and sporting grounds.

It’s a simple message and a reminder people need to remember.

Police across Bundaberg Patrol Group are investigating assault offences which are trending towards an increase in this unacceptable violent behaviour.

Assaults are occurring in homes, residential streets and public places that are unrelated to Domestic and Family Violence incidents.

Alcohol is often related, so when having a drink at home or out socialising be aware of how alcohol affects you and have your sober company look out for you.

We’re asking everyone to think about their attitudes to help our community be safe.

Consider making a change if you are feeling angry or agitated and walk away from situations where that split second decision may result in unwanted consequences for many.

Thank you to our local print, radio and television media for supporting the campaign to help put a stop to assaults and violence in our community. We’ll share their messages over the next few weeks.

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.

Crime Stoppers is a registered charity and community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.

For all non-urgent police reporting or general police inquiries contact Policelink on 131 444 or Policelink.qld.gov.au 24hrs a day.
