ONLINE GRAPHIC central road safety brochureIf you put a dollar sign in front of this number it represents the monetary penalty for speeding at more than 40km/h over the speed limit.

Wait, there’s more including eight demerit points and six months suspension.

Why don’t these consequences slow down drivers?

On January 30 at approximately 11:30am along the Bruce Highway between Adies Road and Woco Creek Road Eureka, police issued a traffic infringement notice to a 29-year-old male overseas tourist driver for a high end speeding offence.

Police allege the driver was speeding at 145km/h exceeding the maximum speed limit of 100km/h.

If you know of overseas visitors driving on our roads, please remind them to be aware and obey our road rules. For more information on speeding fines and demerit points please visit here.

We don’t want this road trip to be their last.
