After two successful years, Suncorp Insurance has once again joined forces with the Queensland Police Service (QPS) to create a safer Queensland in 2013 by funding the third round of Safer Queensland Community Grants.

Applications are now open and community groups, not-for-profits and police throughout the state are encouraged to apply for grants between $1000 and $10 000 before July 31.

The Safer Queensland Community Grants program enables local communities to develop and implement projects that improve road safety or help reduce crime and fear of crime in Queensland.

In the past two years, the Safer Queensland Community Grants program has funded a wide range of hugely beneficial crime prevention and road safety projects in regional communities, including awareness and education campaigns addressing youth violence, drink driving, home and property safety, as well as school and community driving education programs.

Interested community groups, not-for-profits and police are encouraged to visit www.suncorp.com.au/saferqld for information and to apply.
